Real Road on Hills.
A Grade Crossing.
Sidewalk on a hill.
I needed a new demo model and I really wanted to show some of the great aspects of Real Road.  I
model exclusively with foam board now.   It's light weight, easy to work with and easily contoured.  And
if I don't like it, I can easily start over.
That's impossible with chicken wire and plaster.

So, here you see that I've stacked 3 layers of Foam board together.  I used a hand woodworking tool to
shave down the sides to create my hills.  I don't suggest using power tools for this as they will send foam
particles everywhere in your house.

I laid a piece of HO track down the center of the valley and laid ground foam (grass) along the edges of
my proposed road.
I laid the plastic sheet across the foam
model and traced the lines onto it.
Secured and tight as a drum, the plastic
sheet was ready for the paste.  I drew
where I wanted the sidewalks to go as
well so I would have the proper width of
road to support it and act as a guide when
making it.
The road is complete and drying.  I pointed a fan across the surface
to speed the drying time.
